Women's Tennis Drops Match to Bucknell
LEWISBURG--The Bloomsburg University women's tennis lost a tough 4-3 decision to Division I Bucknell University on Wednesday by a 4-3 score. The team's played by division one scoring rules.
The Huskies took two of the three doubles matches to earn one point. Iida Hokkanen (Helsinki, Finland) and Emily Murphy (Worcester/Methacton) won 8-4 at number one doubles, while Allison Carney (Muncy/Muncy) and Tori Cunningham (Greenlawn, NY/Harborfields) won at number three doubles, 8-4.
In singles play, Katie Hasyn (Lansdale/North Penn) won at number two singles, 6-3, 6-3, with Cunningham winning a thriller at number four singles by a score of 7-6, 12 in the tie-breaker, and 6-4.
Bloomsburg, 16-2, will host Slippery Rock on Friday in the PSAC championship semi-finals.
